Updates:
Monday: Siovhan was offered another job, this time for KEZI in Eugene, Oregon.
Ben, Mikaela and Melanie went to Lagoon for the day. On the Jet Star 2, Mikaela's head hit Melanie's arm, resulting in the loss of Mikaela's prescription glasses. The ride was stopped. The glasses weren't found. We prayed, but still no glasses. We left the park sad about the glasses, but glad that we had been able to enjoy the rest of the day.
Tuesday: Siovhan was distressed about life outside of Utah.
Lagoon called, a maintenance worker had found Mikaela's glasses, no scratches and no apparent damage. Miraculous! We drove to Lagoon to pick them up.
After our trip to Lagoon, Grandma, Mikaela, Melanie and Siovhan packed a few boxes of Siovhan's belongings, then brought Siovhan to Nephi so that she could get a break from school life. She and Mikaela went on a LONG ATV ride. When Siovhan was taken back to Provo, she seemed more relaxed and at ease with her life.
Wednesday: Ben went golfing with his cousin, Kyle. They had a blast. It took them as much time to play nine holes as it did the other players to play all eighteen. Ben was happy though.
Mikaela and Melanie played with the other cousins and helped Grandma with the abundant crop of apricots.
Thursday: Went to BYU to buy the cap and gown. Note the word, "buy." Undergrads no longer rent the caps and gowns. After purchasing the cap and gown, with accompanying tassels, we were treated to free BYU brownies, vegetables, popcorn and water. We ate as many brownies as four people could possibly consume without throwing up. (I love BYU brownies!) We then went bowling, ate at the Cougar Eat and then came back to Nephi to help Auntie Julie and Grandma with more of the apricot preserving.
Friday: We all slept in.
After some negotiations, Siovhan accepted the job as Producer of the 11:00 nightly news program in Eugene for the ABC affiliate.
Ben, Mikaela and Melanie went to the dollar theater to see, "Prince Caspian." On the way into the theater, Howard called to tell us that Braden had been in a car accident. He is okay, but the Volvo is not. Needless to say, Melanie didn't enjoy the movie, because she had to keep getting up and leaving to find out what was happening in Milford, Massachusetts. Howard has been looking to buy a new car and give the boys the Volvo for school. Not anymore. We are down to one car until he comes back from a work trip to England in September. Could be interesting. The insurance in Massachusetts is so different than anywhere else we have lived. It will be several weeks before we find out what our car was worth, how much of the money we get less the deductible, when the adjusters will be able to look at the car, how much it is to rent the place at the towing yard where the car is sitting, etc.
Saturday: Off to pack up all of Siovhan's belonging.

The drama for your family never ends, not even on vacation. I hope it works out for everyone, especially the Volvo. :)
glad to hear things worked out for the west coast job. it wont get too hot there in the summer. although it seems to have gotten a little further away from ma (but maybe not).
mmmm....im seriously craving some byu brownies even though ive never had them.
your week sounded jam packed but full of fun. minus the car accident. glad to hear braden is alright though.

Hey, are you still in Utah or did you make it back to MASS. Sounds like a seriously crazy "vacation". We leave in 10 days to take Ali out there. We will get her settled and then send Jenn off to Idaho. Both are very excited and anxious to get going. Jenn is already in SLC having a great time. I hope it all works out for Siovhan. That is tough to let your kids go and do it all on their own.
