Mikaela was the only child home for Trick or Treating this year. She didn't want Mom or Dad to help her with the collecting of her candy. She wanted to go with her best friend. At the last minute the Princess decided that she would rather be a "Soccer Queen" instead of the Princess that she had prepared to be. (We had a gown, gloves, shoes, crown, fake fingernails, pretty much everything a Princess could want). She put on her soccer uniform, fake nails, makeup, pearls and crown.
When we moved here, our neighborhood was full of small children. That was ten years ago. The small children have grown to teenagers or twenty-somethings. There have been some families that have moved and other small children have moved into the neighborhood. The ghouls, goblins and princesses at the door this year were few and far between. Howard and I sat at home and watched a movie. We are becoming the "old people on the street." Mikaela said she had "...the most fun, EVER!" going on her own.
